Dear Ethan,
Wow, I can’t believe this day has come. You are starting preschool tomorrow! You are so excited – we went to meet your teachers and you got to play with all the toys. You cried when we had to leave and were not comforted when I said you could go back next week. You just kept saying that you wanted to see your teachers. It was so sweet. I am very excited for you – I know you will learn a ton and have a great time with the other kids. But part of me is a paranoid and worried momma, and another part of me just wants to freeze time and keep you home with me forever.
You’re growing up so fast. Some days you don’t even look like a toddler – you look and act so grown up sometimes. And such sass and attitude! Some days you are a three year old boy going on thirteen year old girl. Sometimes I can’t help but laugh when you give me a look and give me sass. You are so full of personality. The things that come out of your mouth are hilarious – you are such a character.
Your brother continues to adore you, and you him. I know that you can’t wait for the day when he is big enough to really play with you. It will be here soon enough. You are so sweet with him, always giving him toys or helping him with things. You laugh hysterically when he tries to chew on your face with his bunny teeth. He loves pulling your hair and you don’t mind a bit. I love to see you hug each other – you both love to give each other hugs and it is the sweetest thing. I am so happy I was (finally!) able to get some portraits of you and Liam together. You boys are my world, I love you to pieces!
So, happy first day of preschool tomorrow, my big boy. I know you are going to have a blast and will do so well – you are such a smarty pants. As much as I want to keep you my little baby forever, I am also looking forward to seeing what your future holds. I love you my handsome boy!
Love, Mommy
