Letters to our Sons | December 2013

Dear Ethan & Liam,

I can’t believe the year is over! It has been so fun writing to you both this year and looking back on your pictures to see how you’ve grown. You are both such sweet little guys. You both have your crabby moments (sometimes extremely crabby!), but for the most part you are happy, fun, and smart kids! You love each other so much, and I love to see how special you are to each other. You play together really well (for now!) and you both love your cousin Hannah a ton. Neither of you are great about letting me take pictures of you lately. The majority of Christmas pictures are full of tears and grumpy faces, but I love them anyway. It’s the age and stage, I suppose.

Ethan, you are loving school. I am so amazed at what you have learned in only four months. You are extremely smart and catch on to things very quickly. You can now recognize your name, as well as many numbers and letters. You love to play pretend. You and Hannah often play Jake and the Neverland Pirates or Phineas and Ferb together. It’s adorable, especially when you call Daddy “Daddy Doofenshmirtz”. You have quite the imagination and can turn anything into a toy. You even built an airplane out of a straw wrapper and a barrette!

Liam, you are growing like a weed, as usual. You are getting more teeth, which means you are usually covered in drool and sometimes a bit cranky. For some reason you like to cut them four at a time. You are very mobile, which is impressive considering the fact that you still won’t crawl the traditional way or cruise on your feet. But you manage to get to where you want to go just fine, including all the way down the hall to your brother’s room. You say mama and dada, and babble a lot. You clap, play peek-a-boo, blow kisses, and give hugs and pats. I love your hugs!

You both adore the song/video “What Does the Fox Say?” Ethan, you start dancing and singing it, and Liam, you get very excited and start kicking your feet like crazy. You guys love it so much Grandma bought you the book and Mommy is making you fox hats to wear.

I am so grateful I was blessed with such wonderful boys. There are days you drive me nuts, and I get crabby and frustrated, but you are both so amazing and I love you more than anything in the world. I can’t wait to see what the next year will bring! I love you both!

Love, Mommy

P.S. Out of 323 pictures you guys only gave me a few smiles! Stinkers! Liam, you gave me plenty of blackmail though, and even had your own Christmas card this year. šŸ˜‰
