Letters to our Sons | January 2013

Dear Liam,

I can’t believe you are already two months old! Where does the time go? You now weigh 11 pounds and are wearing three month clothes, but not for much longer. You are growing like a weed! You are smiling more and more each day. I love to see your little face light up as you give me a cute, big crooked smile. I can tell already that you’re going to be a happy little guy, and very tolerant of your big brother. Ethan loves having you as a little brother. Almost a little too much sometimes, it seems. He wants to hold you all the time, to the point where he tries to carry you around the house by himself. He is always in your face just a little too close, talking to you and telling you things about the world. He is always willing to help with you, whether it’s getting you a paci or a blanket, or reminding mommy that it’s time to nurse or change you. You hold a special place in your big brother’s heart and in mine (and daddy’s) as well.

When I was pregnant with you, I didn’t know how our family was going to adapt to having two boys. I couldn’t imagine how life would change, how I would take care of two boys at the same time, how your big brother would react to having you home. I had no idea what life was going to be like having you here. Now I can’t imagine life without you. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love you, wiggle worm.

Love, Mommy
